Jamie M. Tolliver Brief Biography

At the age of 36, Jamie Tolliver has already lived quite the life.  The daughter of United Methodist minister, Reverend Kevin M. Kosh, Ms. Tolliver knows and loves God personally. Ms. Tolliver is a gifted writer, speaker, spoken word artist, singer, motivator, life coach, entrepreneur, educator and lifetime learner. In 2001, at the age of 17, she graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class from Gateway Christian Academy. Ms. Tolliver then went on to attend college at Clark Atlanta University and graduated with honors in 2005 earning her Bachelors in Business Administration with concentrations in both management and marketing. Between 2008 and 2018, Ms. Tolliver has accomplished the following milestones:

  •  Masters degree in Education Administration (Strayer University).
  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (Chattahoochee Technical College). 
  • Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Attended nursing school (Mercer University).
  • Certified Life Coach
  • Started her own publishing company- Patchwork Theory Publishing, LLC.
  • Author of 3 Simple Words: Solving Life’s Greatest Problems in Three Words or Less (2019) and 3 Simple Words: The Companion Journal (2020).
  • Active member of the Flynn Park Elementary school PTO as the Equity and Equality co-chair.
  • Founded Dreams in Progress, an after school youth program.
  • University City Education Foundation board member.
  • Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success
  • University City Public Library’s First adult services outreach coordinator.
  • Member of the Universal African Peoples Organization (UAPO)

As a divorced, single mother of two children, a 10 year old girl and 8 year old boy, Ms. Tolliver is expecting to earn her 4th degree, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Technology from the University of Phoenix in the summer of 2020.

After becoming Dr. Tolliver, she  plans to:

  • Be elected the first female St. Louis County Executive.
  • Publish more books.
  • Create a life coaching app.
  • Administer online courses for writers and those needing motivation.
  • Become a personal trainer.
  • Open an after school educational supplement program.
  • Become a motivational speaker.
  • Begin a webcast/podcast series.
  • Change the core curriculum used in the public school system to be more inclusive, complete, applicable to life, and equitable for the youth.
  • Continue actively advocating for the rights of young people and the under-served.
